This abstract landscape developed intuitively through layers of muted earth tones, black, white and warm yellow. I did not begin with a specific place in mind, but gradually a landscape started to emerge.

What I love most is the contrast between the dark, grounded forms and the warm light that still seems to remain in the distance. For me, the painting captures that brief moment when the day is fading, but the last light has not quite disappeared.
